Dr. Nigel L. Walker was born February 13, 1980, to David and Jacqueline T. Walker. He was born and raised in Eufaula, AL, along with seven brothers and sisters. Jacqueline raised all eight children as a single mother in the public housing projects throughout his childhood.

He began writing at an early age, and published his first poetry book, The Secret Diaries of Jean Batiste in 2004. His follow-up, Rose Petals for Josephine: The Secret Diaries Volume II was released in 2007. He also published a narrative nonfiction work entitled The Underground Philosophy of Education: Teaching is Not for Dummies in 2011. His latest motivational book, STRIVE for Greatness: Motivation in your own image, is available online at Amazon.com.

Dr. Nigel L. Walker has developed a resume for public speaking through his community service and a desire to encourage others. His speaking is commonly centered on the power of education, using his inspiring story of going  from humble beginnings to becoming a highly respected professional to encourage crowds of all ages; travelling from among elementary schools to colleges. He has also spoken on topics of poetry and writing, innovations in education, and community service. Dr. Walker currently serves as a district Human Resources coordinator. He resides in LaGrange, GA with his wife Irene, daughters Emily and Claudia, and twin daughters Leah and Lydia.
