Mr. Nigel Walker’s is a participant at Long Cane Middle School’s Black History Program. For the past three years he has prepared and delivered an original poetic piece with vigor and much enthusiasm to a crowd of 11 -14 year-olds that respond with excitement and a new perspective on modern issues. There isn’t another one like Mr. Walker.

“Your performances are epic! They’re emotionally driven and they incorporate facts with real world knowledge. Students in all socioeconomic brackets can learn from and relate to your take on life and the perpetuation of generations keeping themselves from prospering. Poetry at its best, but it is much more than that. It’s a plea for kids to understand that they have power over their own education and their own circumstances.”
